CMWP group hosted an interactive discussion on the Investment Principles with Value Investor, Hajara AlAmodi. The Key Takeaways from this session are : What is an investment? Do you need a specific type of education? Are there any quick or easy investments options for people, who may not want to do the research? How compounding works in investment? Hajara attended the WIT event hosted by the KCura and Anita Borg Foundation as a panelist. She discussed future technologies, opportunities for women in tech, and some challenges. Being a minority herself, she is pro-diversity. She is a steering committee member at 2020 Women on Boards in the USA and she also works with the research committee at 30% Club, in the Middle East, where she works with a talented team of men and women, trying to create more opportunities for women in the corporate boardrooms across the world. She frequently speaks on diversity, or rather lack of it, sharing her struggles as a woman and teaching others how to navigate the road, empowering women and minorities.

Hajara was invited back to IIT, to speak on the issue of cyber security and cyber-attacks on businesses and integrating ACMW’s program on cyber-security education and awareness. She talked about the security breaches that are happening in businesses and organizations and the financial/ social impact of such attacks. The lack of knowledge about security and related issues in an organization is hurting businesses and causing huge amounts of losses. The audience loved the insightful speech and her opinions on the subject.

2020 Women on Boards, Board Diversity Conference
2020 Women on Boards is a non-profit based in the USA with campaigns in different states and international locations. Hajara is the Co-Chair of the Chicago committee and she was a speaker at the recently held board diversity conference in Chicago, at the Mid-America Club Downtown. She spoke about the state of board diversity in the state of Illinois and the condition of boards at companies from the Russell 3000 index. Her speech and the research shared were highly appreciated by the attendees.
The Conference was attended by many prominent businessmen and women, including John Rogers, Founder & CEO of Ariel Investments, the largest privately held mutual fund, and a board director at McDonald's Corporation and Exelon Corporation.
